Back In Blue

Happy Wednesday to all! it's been a weird week for me, so I hope yours is going better than mine.

The Dodgers are back in action later today against the Oakland A's so I'll get you more on that when the time comes.  As far as news is concerned:
-It's apparently considered a piece of news that Chad Billingsley pitched six innings in a minor leauge game recently.  He was fine tuning both his mechanics and his delivery in an attempt to dethrone the ace from his probable opening day start.
-Speaking of opening day starters, Joe Torre has said that he'll make his decision on Thursday.
-Frank and Jamie McCourt continue to duke it out in the courtroom, most recently over how much Frank McCourt should pay for spousal support.  Jamie claims that Frank has a spare 18 million just lying around that could be used to help her pay all her bills that are just piling up (I say this in the most sarcastic tone possible in case you hadn't already gathered).

In non-Dodgers news:
-Jose Canseco has been subpoenaed by a grand jury investigating if Roger Clemens did indeed lie about using steriods.  The worst part about this? Canseco chose to announce this fact over his TWITTER ACCOUNT.  That has to be the best tweet ever! "Oh just got subpoenaed by FBI who are coming to my house! LOL!"

"I don't know where the next one is going..."

Welcome all! I am dodgerdoll, the lead singer on this greatest hits album.  So go grab your Dodger themed snuggie and your stick on Casey Blake beard and together we'll go on a magical ride through Dodgertown.

Let me be the first to say: spring training pains me deeply. The only thing it's good for is an excuse to go down to warm Arizona, (it's been snowing here in Utah, so needless to say I feel the need to weep uncontrollably when I watch a game) and for managers to get a look at free agent signings, minor leauge players, and other prospects.
However, as much as I might dislike spring training, it's good to have baseball back.  This was a long off-season, filled with NOTHING. Ned Colletti and Frank McCourt failed epically at getting an established ace for the pitching staff and only preceded to get old, past prime players that no one else wanted.
Enough of my complaining, yesterday the Dodgers played both the Brewers and Angels, beating the first and losing to the latter.  Clayton Kershaw (who I will now refer to as "the ace") had a steady outing with six strikeouts, giving up three runs (only one was earned) and two hits.
On the other hand, the other half of the squad went down 4-2 at the hands of Joe Saunders.  Carlos Monasterios pitched, riding an eight scoreless innings streak, which was then broken by none other than godzilla himself.
